How did you create your own metaframework?

Hey @lazarv, I'm super impressed with your work. I too want to write a metaframework from scratch but have no idea where to start. How did you get started? What where the resources (blogs, videos, articles, papers, e.t.c) that you referenced? Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated!

Hi @ShlokDesai33!

I started to experiment with the new server-side rendering features of React quite a while back, and since then, there have been a few huge changes, like the required react-server Node.js import condition and other breaking changes in React. Regarding Vite, I started this project using multiple Vite server instances, later migrated to Vite Runtime API, and eventually ended up using the Vite Environment API when it was only alpha. Keep in mind that I would not consider my meta-framework as a good example of how to start your own React meta-framework from scratch because of the original design decisions I had as a goal, most importantly the capability to use this framework like a runtime, similar to Node.js using an RSC as an entrypoint, without any project setup.
