[Feature request] Autocomplete `$variable` without needing to type the `$`

`$` is the bane of my existence. It would save so much daily frustration if I could just start typing the variable's name without the leading `$` all the time for it to suggest the full name. Just a little fuzzy autocomplete, if you will
