Steps to reproduce the bug

Just update
'io.grpc:grpc-netty:1.56.1'
'io.netty:netty-codec:4.1.94.Final'
'io.netty:netty-codec-http:4.1.94.Final'

to
'io.grpc:grpc-netty:1.59.0'
'io.netty:netty-codec:4.1.101.Final'
'io.netty:netty-codec-http:4.1.101.Final'

for security issues, then the error occurred.

Not sure if it's a similar issue like reported in #7953
which fixed by #7967.

Btw, we must use grpc-netty but NOT grpc-netty-shaded since we need to run on s390x env. Thanks!

We also bumped into this problem. It looks like this commit introduced a call to headers.isEmpty() which is not implemented and defaults to the Abstract implementation that throws (see here. This has been fixed in main tho

Also running into this issue, which will prevent us from updating both Netty and Spring Boot in our project. Is there expected to be another version released that implements the isEmpty() function?

But the problem is that there is no release yet. Please release. It blocks at least spring-boot version upgrade
